Classical theater: Lembing Awang Pulang Ke Dayang

Assalamualaikum, hi.

Semester 1 has taught me a lot-- be it academic or else. I think the biggest part that play the main role of pushing us to cooperate and know each other is ko-k. Like I used to say before, we're bunch of nerds! Almost all of us were not used to acting, dancing, or even directing. Not to forget being involved with managing the props, costumes, scripts, ICT, etc etc.

Ainul maybe used to traditional dance and props. Afiq and Aqmal maybe used to ICT. But to be honest, their work won't settle if the others don't cooperate. We don't have a camera for the recordings but however we manage to borrow from a lecture mate. His practicum got theater for ko-k too, but he willingly lend his DSLR camera. We thank you very much!

I myself is not a good AJK Costume, and I thank Ainul's mother very much for lending costumes for the dancers. Not to mention various ideas given by the crews for proper costumes and their willingness to follow my orders. Most of the rakaman luar scenes doesn't need everyone to show up. But I have to be there as well with the director, actors, props and the cameraman. The whole process was a pain the ass, sometimes I got sick but for the love of the practicum, I still showed up though. Aha!

Other than being involved with handling the costumes, I myself is one of the dancers. For the first time in my life, I danced Zapin on a stage! XD I don't like dancing at all. Be it traditional or modern dance-- I just don't dance! But somehow after weeks of practice, I realised how fun dancing is. Maybe I just don't like the idea of dancing on a stage in front of hundreds of audience. Haha!

However, this is a matriculation college. Ko-k is fun, but we still have lectures, tutorial classes, lab sessions, quizzes, extra classes. What a hectic semester! Even though there a lot of other things to settle, sometimes we have to gather for a quick meeting for improvements or a last minute 'rakaman luar' that originally not in the script just because the director had an idea xD

It wasn't easy at all for us but somehow we managed to settle everything and finally won the 2nd place. Yeah, kinda sad though we didn't won for the 1st place instead but to be honest, we already won the 1st place in our hearts.

What's important for us was our cooperation and determination. Now we're not just some boring, plain pure science matriculation students. We actually have experience in handling a classical theater! In our own way, of course. I believe it would be different for the real ones. Thank you MS10, thank you ko-k teachers-- especially Madam Jamaliah, our supporters. If it wasn't for you guys, I have no idea what semester 1 would be like. It was a great experience indeed.
